My grandson Hayden has been in town for most of the summer and over that time he has made some friends. Today we took Hayden and 2 of his buddies out salmon fishing for a few hours.

The track from my Garmin InReach decided not to work so I don't have that track to show here. However, I did go into my navigational app, Coastal Explorer, and recreate our simple track for this day's trip.

The harbor is up at the left, indicated by the green boat symbol.

We went out to Mountain Point and then up into the area near Herring Cove where we trolled for just a couple of hours.

11-year-olds don't have a lot of patience so when we didn't hit any fish for a bit they all wanted to go home.

We did actually catch one lonely little Pink, which Hayden caught while casting a little silver spinner off the foredeck.

I feel bad that we didn't get many fish but that's the way it goes sometimes.

At least the kids got a good McDonald's breakfast out of the deal!
