Cristina has fond memories of the many family picnics that we had at the Naha picnic shelter, so that was the goal for today's adventure.
Some of the clan had departed but we added one more. Today the crew consisted of:
Cristina and her husband Devon
Oldest grandson Tyler and his SO Megan
One and only granddaughter Aliyah
Youngest grandson Scotty
Devon's nephew Jorel
Today fishing was not on the agenda, so we just loaded up the picnic supplies and pulled out at about 9:45 AM. The weather was overcast with light breezes, but no rain.
We ran straight for the Naha, arriving at about noon.
There is almost always some foam around this area that is kicked up by the rapids just around the corner near the entrance to Roosevelt Lagoon. Today the foam was thicker than I've ever seen in my numerous visits here.
When I pulled up to the dock the foam on that side billowed up, pushed up by the boat, and made that side of the boat look horrible. Cleaning required for sure! Hopefully someone took a photo of it and sent it to me so I can add it to this post later on.
Here is the map from my Garmin InReach that shows our track for this adventure.

My slip at Bar Harbor is at the bottom, marked in red, and the Naha dock is up at the top.
We loaded up the picnic supplies and walked the short distance up the trail to the picnic shelter. We had a very pleasant few hours there with a nice fire and plenty of snacks and S'Mores.
However, all good things must come to an end.
We pulled away from the dock at 4:30 PM in light rain and made it back to my slip at 7 PM.
We logged 41.4 nm for this trip, and a good time was had by all!
